I enjoy the useless tidbits of completely irrelevant information commonly known as trivia. I honestly do. I don't know what it is, but there's just something about trivia that fascinates me. Must have something to do with how fascinating the information itself is. Nah, that can't be it. Anyway, these tidbits aren't nearly as fun when I don't get to share them with people, so that, dear user, is what I am doing. You may want to do so as well. And so will the people you tell it to. And the people they tell it to. And the people they tell it to. And the peo--you get the idea. Let the trivialities commence!

In Norse mythology, the realm where people (humans) live is called Midgard, which literally translates to "Middle Earth". Tolkien, you sly little plagiarist. 3/2/11
Sometimes, when in a forested area with no radio signal, the U.S. Marines will throw one end of a metal Slinky® up into a tree to serve as a makeshift signal-boosting antenna. That's right, Slinkies® just got badass. 2/18/11
Indiana University Library sinks an inch into the ground every year from the weight of all the books. Maybe they should make the overdue fees less harsh so the students can help them throw off some ballast. 1/25/11

Windmills always turn counter-clockwise, except in Ireland, where they turn clockwise. But I guess there aren't that many other directions for them to turn in. Well, maybe in a 4 or more dimensional universe, but we're not in one of those, are we? 07/23/10
Everyday in New York, approximately 1,600 people are bitten by humans. And as everyone knows, any person that is bitten by a human will transform into a human during the full moon. . . or maybe it was coffee that made them do that. I don't know. 07/16/10

(BrokenEye Unltd. and Guthrie Devine will not be held responsible for any goats harmed as a result of this factoid)
The first telephone book was one page long, and had fifty numbers on it. I don’t see why you’d even need a phonebook if only fifty people have phones, but weirder things have happened. 03/22/10
